The fountain at Quincy Rotary Plaza sits dormant with ice and bits of snow scattered about in its basin. According to a nearby plaque, the tribute to the areas agricultural heritage was built by Quincy resident Scott Lybbert to pay tribute to the connection between farming and irrigation that transformed Quincy – and the Columbia Basin in general – into an agricultural center. In warmer weather, water flows through bits of farm implements and keeps the surrounding plaza a pleasant place to visit.

Water gun brings police to Coeur d’Alene High School
Police responded to a Friday morning report of a student outside Coeur d’Alene High School with what appeared to be a firearm, which turned out to be a water gun.
