Brent Alan Sandford, 56
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 years, 7 months AGO
Brent was born Feb. 15, 1966, in Missouri to Frank and Kaye Sandford. He passed away Jan. 15, 2023, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with his family by his side.
Brent moved away to Coeur d’Alene with his family in 1974. He then spent many years in Coulee Dam, Wash., Spokane, Wash. and Post Falls, Idaho, before moving back to Coeur d’Alene, just months ago. He worked in the grocery store business for most of his life.
Brent had many obstacles and disabilities to overcome throughout his life. He never complained or asked for help. His life revolved around his sisters and their families. He loves his nieces and nephews and his proudest moments in life were watching their achievements. They lovingly referred to him as U.B.
Brent was a man of few words. When he was young, he was very late to talk — his mother said that was because his two older sisters did his talking for him or he just gave up trying to get a word in!
As he entered Heaven it was his sisters' voices he heard, telling him how loved he was.
Brent had three great loves. His faith in God, his family and his Osage heritage. He was obsessed with fishing and went whenever he could. He loved the New York Yankees — which led to many heated discussions with his family since they are all Mariners fans!
Brent was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sandford, only 10 months ago. He is survived by his mother, Kaye Sandford, his sisters, Tonya (Rob) Smith, Jodi (Eric) Rawkins and Shawna (Ed) Bluemer, 10 nieces and nephews and 18 great-nieces and nephews.
Brent’s celebration of life will be Saturday, March 4, at 10 a.m. at Heart of the City Church in Coeur d’Alene.
