EPHRATA – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office announced that marine deputies are out patrolling recreational waters in the area. Those recreating on the water are encouraged to be cautious and remember not to boat under the influence.

Lifeline Ambulance has begun servicing Grant County after representatives with American Medical Response made the decision to cease service in the area, citing increased operational costs in later March. AMR continued to provide services until mid-June and area first responder agencies selected Lifeline as the replacement contractor for ambulance services. Lifeline had agreed to invest about $1.5 million to get services running in the county, according to first responder organizations at the time. Lifeline announced that their services had begun earlier this week.

MOSES LAKE — A 26-year-old man was shot in the 9800 block of Olympic Drive Northeast Sunday, according to a statement from the Moses Lake Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at about 12:20 p.m., according to the statement. Upon arrival they found a 26-year-old man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the pelvic area, the statement said. The shooting appeared to have stemmed from a dispute between neighbors, the statement said. A 30-year-old man was taken into custody but was released by investigators and the investigation is ongoing.

Trevor Wren, 36, of Moses Lake was arrested July 4 after officers with MLPD received a report of a male subject firing n AR-15 style rifle in his yard in the 700 block of Grand Drive. Officers arrived and observed Wren exit his residence and fire several rounds into the ground. Due to the presence of the rifle and the unknown motive for the shooting, the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response team was called to the scene. Wren was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail. Weapons, ammunition and spent shell casings were recovered from the residence after investigators obtained a search warrant.
