I-90 crash kills Minnesota man

A 66-year-old Rice, Minn., man died Saturday when the semi-tractor he was driving struck an embankment on Interstate 90.
The crash occurred around 3:15 a.m. near Fourth of July pass, according to Idaho State Police.
The Volvo semi-tractor the man was driving was traveling eastbound and drove onto the right shoulder of the roadway, striking the jersey barriers. The vehicle continued to travel along the jersey barriers through a curve in the roadway and eventually struck an embankment on the right shoulder of the road.
The driver of the Volvo was not wearing his seat belt and was found deceased at the scene.
Idaho State Police personnel are working with the Kootenai County Coroner to determine if the driver’s death was due to a medical issue or the crash. The next of kin has been notified.
