Moses Lake chamber to host candidate forum

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce will host a candidates forum Tuesday, according to a press release from the chamber.

The forum, sponsored by the Columbia Basin Herald and KWIQ Radio, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Moses Lake Civic Center, 401 S. Balsam St. The event is free and open to the public.

All candidates in local contested races in the primary election have been invited:

• Moses Lake City Council Pos. 6: Victor Lombardi, Gerrit A. Klein, David P Eck, Jeremy Nolan

• Grant County Hospital Dist. No. 1, Commissioner District No. 3: Brandon Penix, Elliott DeLong, Katherine Christian

Questions prepared by the sponsors will be asked of all candidates and if time permits, some audience questions will be asked. All audience questions will need to be submitted in writing and in the form of a question to one or more of the candidates.

MOSES LAKE – On Thursday around 2 p.m., two women were assaulted and had their vehicle stolen by two white males, according to Grant County Sherrif’s Office. The incident happened along I-90 at Road U-Southeast about 10 miles East of Moses Lake. GCSO reported that the victims have non-life-threatening injuries. They said the suspects are believed to be headed to Spokane via I-90. The detail of the vehicle is a Gray 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche, Washington license D54618D.
