MOSES LAKE – According to the City of Moses Lake website, changes to Moses Lake’s water conservation regulations on when citizens can water their lawns – approved by the city council on July 27 – went into effect Monday.
Irrigation limitations in the city of Moses Lake are now in effect year-round, according to the website. All homes with a city address are no longer allowed to irrigate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, and no irrigation is allowed on Mondays. Odd numbered addresses are instructed to irrigate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, while even addresses can irrigate on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
According to the website, residents can obtain a 14-day unrestricted irrigation allowance permit from the Public Works department when installing or planting new sod, turf or grass seed.

EPHRATA – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team conducted multiple narcotics investigations at the Dead and Co. concert event held at the Gorge Amphitheater last weekend.
INET consists of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Moses Lake Street Crimes Unit and Homeland Security Investigations staff, according to the announcement. After conducting nine different investigations, detectives made 13 arrests that resulted in more than 15 felony drug distribution charges.
According to the announcement, the controlled substances seized by law enforcement included psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, Ketamine, MDMA, MDA, cocaine and cannabis. The post also stated that law enforcement agencies seized more than $23,000 in cash, six vehicles and an AR-style ghost gun with armor-piercing ammunition.
GCSO is asking residents of Grant County to keep an eye out for any signs of missing person Jesse Cadenas along the Columbia River Shore south of the Rock Island train bridge.
According to the announcement, Cadenas, 25, was reported missing from his home in Rock Island on June 20. The announcement describes Cadenas as five feet and six inches tall and approximately 120 pounds. Searchers believe Cadenas is in the Columbia Basin. McCosh Park site of Lions Easter egg hunt Saturday
MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Lions chapter will be sponsoring its annual Easter egg hunt Saturday at noon McCosh Park. It’s for children up to 12 years of age. The park is divided into zones for different ages, from birth to 3 years of age, 4 to 6 years, 7 to 10 years and 11 and 12 years. Parents should plan to have their children there on time, according to the organizers, since the egg hunters are released promptly at noon and it doesn’t take them long to make a clean sweep of the eggs.
Suspect arrested in Soap Lake arson case
SOAP LAKE — An unidentified man was arrested on suspicion of arson Wednesday after allegedly setting fire to clothing that ignited nearby brush. The fire was reported in the 2200 block of Road 20 Northeast at about 7:45 p.m., according to a post from Grant County Fire District 7.
Respiratory illness season fades in Grant County
MOSES LAKE — With the arrival of spring the most severe phase of the 2024-25 respiratory illness has officially come to an end, according to the Grant County Health District.
