The rip-roaring loud engine noises Bayview residents will hear this weekend are nothing to be alarmed about.
The 10th annual Thunder in the Bay Car Cruise will hit the streets of Bayview starting at 4 p.m. Friday at a parking lot on Main Street.
The cruise will be free and followed by a car show Saturday, with prizes for winners in five categories: Ladies' Choice, People's Choice, Best Paint, Best in Show and, new this year, Best Truck. Each subcategory will also have a best of including cars by decade, sports cars, hot rods and more. At each stop along the cruising route, families will cheer the drivers and best cars.
The cruising route will start with stop one at Athol Super 1 Foods, where cars will cruise the perimeter of the parking lot. Drivers will go on to stop 2, the Spirit Lake Jifi Stop/Exxon Gas Station, then to the Class A Motor coach Village at StoneRidge Golf Course in Blanchard and end at the StoneRidge parking lot.
Vehicles will remain on display in the parking lot, where people can hear easy-listening music and get a bite to eat in Blanchard.
