Berg shoots 63 for first-round lead at Rosauers

SPOKANE — PGA Professional Derek Berg of Pacific Northwest Golf Academy (Issaquah, Wash.) fired an 8-under-par 63 for a three-shot lead after the first day of the 36th Rosauers Open Invitational at Indian Canyon Golf Course.
Among the eight players at 66 are 2021 Rosauers champion Colin Inglis and 2012 winner David Phay.
Jess Wingett (The Highlands), Billy Bomar (Bomar Putting Company), amateur Cole Jaworski and Austin Westphal (Avondale) all shot even-par 71s.
Trevor Fox (Black Rock) shot 72.
Taylor Porter (Avondale) and North Idaho College golf coach Russell Grove each shot 73.
The tourney continues today and concludes Sunday.
