SANDPOINT — The North Idaho Lakers bullpen threw four no-hit innings to help lift the team over the Camas Prairie Zephyrs, 5-4, in the first round of legion district playoffs Friday at War Memorial Field.

The last hit recorded by the Zephyrs was in the bottom of the third inning when the team scored three of their four runs. Mason Little came in to relieve Parker Reichart and threw two no-hit innings. Following him were Zeke Roop and Dallen Williams who also threw one no-hit inning each. The Lakers strong bullpen proved to be the difference late in the game.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Lakers trailed 3-4, but were able to tie the game up thanks to Williams who hit a sacrifice fly to deep center field. In the bottom of the seventh, with one out, Coleman Inge drew a walk, Reichart singled to center, and the Zephyrs intentionally walked Brent Campbell to load the bases. The very next at-bat, Sage Medeiros was beaned in the side, which gave the Lakers the 5-4 victory.

Soren Caprio led the Lakers at the plate going two-for-three with two singles and a run scored.

The North Idaho Lakers (11-9) will face off against the Northern Lakes Mountaineers (23-9) in the second round today at 8:30 a.m. at War Memorial Field.
