Dorothy Arlene Kessinger was born March 12, 1930, to Carl and Mabel (Lien) Nicholson on the family farm in rural Wadena, Minn. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Wadena High School. On Nov. 7, 1957, she was united in marriage to Earle Wayne Kessinger in Colbert, Wash. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Joy and Merilee, and 48 years of marriage together. The couple made their home and raised their family on the farm in Worley, Idaho. Wayne died in 2005. Shortly after, Dorothy moved to Hayden, Idaho. She died peacefully at NorthStar Retirement Community in Coeur d’Alene on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the age of 93 years.
Dorothy was a longtime member of Worley Community Church and active in the life of the congregation. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, bingo and especially time spent with her family.
Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Merilee (and Dan) Sneve of Worley, Idaho; grandchildren Krystal (and Travis) Stepper, Kristopher Sneve, Dustin (and Chelsea) Brouse and Kurtis Brouse (and Nancy Kay Smith); great-grandchildren Keelyn, Taylor, Kambry, and Jackson; and a sister, Betty Johnston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle Wayne Kessinger; and a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Ray Brouse.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 29, at 11 a.m. at Worley Community Church at 30203 S. First St., Worley, with a lunch to follow. The interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Rockford, Wash.
