Lari Carol Pearcy passed away June 21, 2023, after a short battle with an aggressive cancer.

Lari, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, had a beautiful soul, was incredibly kind, loved with all her heart and was as stubborn as they came. She was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Spokane, Wash., to M. Lorraine and Donald E. Weitz. Lari lived in Coeur d’Alene most of her life, graduating from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1965, married and started her family.

Her first job was working at “The Viking,“ a small hamburger and soda shop owned by her parents. She was later employed by Les Steel Tree Service, where she packed and used a chain saw for over 28 years while cutting right away for Bonneville Power. Lari could sharpen a saw blade to perfection.

After turning in her chain saw, she became “a lunch lady“ at Lakes Middle School. When asked why she wanted the “lunch lady” job, she happily smiled and said, “So I can watch all my grandkids pass by and be sure they are OK.” She stayed at Lakes for 15 years and watched all her grandkids pass by. She was a wonderful baker and shared her beautiful singing voice when she made cookies and pies for her beloved family.

Her family was her sole focus. She worried about her family all the time and took care of any and all of them when they needed it. She cared and loved so much that sometimes she did not address her own needs. Lari’s life purpose was to be present and supportive of her family. She did not have much but gave everything to anyone in need or who asked for help. She loved her entire family, despite our quirks. She will be dearly missed, she was one of a kind and to be loved by her was a true blessing.

Lari is survived by her three children, Carol Lois Lane, Robyn Weiss (Tim), and Dann Pearcy II; her brother, David Weitz; sister Sue Weitz; her eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A small graveside service will be at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene on Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. Following will be a celebration of life at her family home 810 E. Garden Ave. in Coeur d’Alene. Funeral arrangements are through Yates Funeral Home. Please leave your stories, thoughts, prayers and memories on their website: www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
