COEUR d'ALENE — What a glorious feeling.
Aspire Community Theatre, with its volunteer staff and board, is closing its sixth season with "Singin' in the Rain," opening at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Midge and Pepper Smock Family Theatre at the Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Road.
The “Greatest Movie Musical of All Time” is adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green from their original award-winning screenplay. Each scene, song and dance is accounted for, including the title number.
“Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit parade score of Hollywood standards make "Singin’ in the Rain" the perfect entertainment for any fan of the golden age of movie musicals,” Aspire artistic director Trigger Weddle said.
Aspire is a community theater featuring North Idaho talent, with performers backed by professional musicians. Its first production in 2016 was "Little Shop of Horrors."
“Aspire has matured into a local theater staple, producing four musicals in a season,” Weddle said.
Tickets are available at aspirecda.com and start at $22 up to $28 for adults.
Show dates/times: 7:30 p.m. Aug. 4-5 and Aug. 10-12; 2 p.m. Aug. 5-6 and Aug. 12-13.
