MOSES LAKE — The development at Maple Grove, just north of SR 17 at Grape Drive, is almost complete, and the subsequent development is underway.
Homes at Maple Landing went on sale July 21. The development itself is still in the excavation stage, but two homes are already available for purchase, according to the Hayden Homes website.
Maple Landing is located right next to Maple Grove, and will eventually include 14 homesites.
“This location offers a little something for everyone,” Gina Donangelo Barnecut, Senior Marketing Manager for Hayden Homes, wrote in an email to the Herald. “At Maple Landing, residents are minutes from Highway 17, shopping and area amenities.”
Hayden Homes has been a fixture in Moses Lake since the early 1990s, Donangelo Barnecut pointed out in a visit last week to dedicate the new Maple Grove Park.
“At Hayden Homes, we've been building for over 30 years, and mostly in Moses Lake where we've been able to provide over 1,500 homes to happy homeowners,” she said.
Affordability is a big factor in Hayden’s home-building philosophy. The new homes at Maple Grove and Maple Landing start around $265,000, slightly below the median price for all homes in that section of Grant County, according to the Northwest Multiple Listing Service. Maple Landing will include six different home plans, Donangelo Barnecut wrote.
The company was founded in Redmond, Oregon by Bob and Virginia Watson, according to Donangelo Barnecut, and named for their son Hayden, who is chairman of the company today. Hayden builds in various communities in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
“Bob stressed the importance of delivering the highest quality home at an affordable price,” Donangelo Brnecut wrote. “Hayden’s mother Virginia encouraged and instilled the spirit of generosity in everyone who works here.”
The company incorporates a “Give as you Go” principle in its housing development process, Donangelo Barnecut wrote. The company, besides building a park at Maple Grove and handing it over to the city, also made a sizable donation of play equipment to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin.
“We believe we give more than you get, and really giving a hand up to local organizations, nonprofits and community members,” Donangelo Barnecut wrote.
“We are a home builder,” Katy Wooderson, Hayden’s vice president of marketing, said at the park dedication. “But really who we are is about building a strong community. And we really like to partner with tons of nonprofits in all the different regions that we build. We focus on youth, we focus on housing, we focus on food, and really (the) essential, basic things that people do to build a strong community.”
