STATE A LEGION BASEBALL: Lums fall, but will play for state 'A' title today

NAMPA — One way or another, the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen were going to play for the state ‘A” American Legion baseball title on Sunday, whether they lost or not in Saturday’s game against the Idaho Falls Bruins at Rodeo Park.
It’s the other.
Coeur d’Alene, which entered the day as the lone unbeaten team in the tournament remaining, fell to the Bruins 4-2.
Today, Idaho Falls will face JNS Baseball of Idaho Falls at 9 a.m. in a semifinal game, with that winner advancing to face the Lums at noon in the state title game. JNS Baseball beat the Minico Storm 12-1 in a loser-out game earlier on Saturday.
Deacon Hunter had three hits and scored both runs for Coeur d’Alene (29-9). Tanner Franklin had an RBI double in the fourth inning.
Idaho Falls (28-14) scored all of its runs in the fourth inning.
