Ephrata schools to offer free summer meals to children

EPHRATA — The Ephrata School District will provide free meals to children 18 and younger this summer beginning on Wednesday, June 14, and lasting through Thursday, July 27, according to a press release from the Ephrata School District.
Meals will be provided Monday through Thursday and will serve meals at Ephrata High School, 333 4th Ave. NW, and at Columbia Ridge Elementary School, 60 H. St. SE. Breakfast will be served at both schools from 8-9 a.m. while lunch will be served from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The meals are free to all children 18 or younger, though they must be eaten on-site, the press release said. Meals will not be served on June 19, July 4 or July 5, the press release added.

Boys and Girls Club logo allegedly used in Moses Lake scam
MOSES LAKE — Boys and Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin officials are warning people that scammers apparently are using the club’s logo and claiming to be affiliated with the organization. The scammers allegedly were soliciting money door to door along Third Avenue early Tuesday afternoon.
