QUINCY - The Quincy Police Department participated in the Fire on Top-Cop on Top fundraiser last Friday, teaming up with other first responder agencies to raise money for Special Olympics, according to an announcement from the department. Officers and firefighters were taken up in a scissor lift for a squirt gun battle with local youth, according to the announcement.

RITZVILLE — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that it has developed its own smartphone app. The app will enable the ACSO to connect with Adams County residents and visitors, according to the announcement.

The app offers up-to-date information including

• Most wanted

• Sex offenders

• Recent arrests

• Adams County Jail inmate information

• Calls for service

• Emergency management

The app was developed by TheSheriffApp.com, owned by OCV LLC, which specializes in mobile apps for sheriffs’ offices and other public safety organizations, according to the announcement.

“We hope it will be a welcomed addition to assist our community outreach,” Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner wrote in the announcement.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office app is available for iOS at the App Store or for Android at the Google Play Store, according to the announcement, by searching “Adams County Sheriff WA.”

EPHRATA — The White Trail Grange will hold its annual Antique Car, Hot Rod, Tractor and Motorcycle Show on July 1, according to an announcement from the grange.

Owners of antique cars, tractors, pickups and other classic or interesting vehicles are invited to show them off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the grange hall, 3392 Road 5 NW, south of Ephrata off Dodson Road, the announcement said. Entry fee is $20 for the first two, which includes two meal tickets, according to the announcement. Additional entries are $10 each.

Burgers and hot dogs will be served at no charge, although a donation of $10 is suggested. There will also be a small bazaar and a bake sale, the announcement said. More information is available by calling Rita Butler at 509-398-1639.

RITZVILLE — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office honored some of its most experienced members Thursday, according to a statement from the ACSO.

Corporal Jeff Lane marked 20 years of service with the ACSO, and Clerk Bobbi Hunt has served for 15 years, according to the statement.

“Corporal Lane is dedicated to our community and knows the meaning of service above self and has proven it time and time again,” wrote Sheriff Dale Wagner in the statement. “Bobbi wears many hats and works hard doing all she can to assist in any capacity. She is an amazing team member.”

CWU recognizes locals in winter quarter honor roll

ELLENSBURG — Central Washington University has released its Honor Roll for winter quarter 2025, with 104 students from Grant and Adams counties honored. To be eligible, a student must complete a minimum of 12 graded credits in the quarter earned with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

UPDATED: Water main break closes section of Mart Road

MOSES LAKE — A water main break is temporarily limiting access to businesses in the 900 block of Stratford Road. Moses Lake city officials said Monday afternoon that a section of the westbound lane of Mart Road will be closed while repairs are underway. Drivers still will have access to WinCo, Sportsman’s Warehouse and the other businesses in that block from Central Drive, said Lynne Lynch, Moses Lake communications and marketing specialist. The road will be closed until further notice.

The Shack to hold grand opening tomorrow

MOSES LAKE — The Shack will hold its grand opening tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Moses Lake. The Shack, owned by Rick Rodriguez, will carry electronic accessories similar to those carried by the now-defunct Radio Shack chain. Rodriguez previously owned the Radio Shack store in Moses Lake before the chain folded in the 2010s. The Shack is the first business to take up occupancy in the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce’s business incubator at 301 W. Broadway Ave., according to the chamber.
