During the graduation ceremony, MLHS principal Sheila Kries listed extensive academic and athletic accomplishments attributed to the class of 2023.
170 graduates of Wahluke High School walked across the stage inside the school’s gymnasium on Friday, receiving large cheers from the crowd of family, friends, teachers, mentors and school administrators.

COLUMBIA BASIN – Celebrations aplenty occurred throughout Grant and Adams counties over the weekend as about two weeks of graduations at area high schools began. Below are some photo highlights of the festivities. The Columbia Basin Herald will have full coverage of the graduation ceremonies in a special keepsake edition of the paper on June 12 so that area students can have something with themselves and their friends from across the region in one place. Collision kills driver near Quincy
QUINCY — Adams Road near Quincy was closed for about three and a half hours Wednesday afternoon due to a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The car’s driver was killed in the crash. The collision occurred at about 12:45 p.m., according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, between Road 5 Northwest and Road 6 Northwest. The driver’s name was withheld pending notification of family members, said Kyle Foreman, GCSO public information officer. The case is still under investigation.
Othello man arrested after gunfire at local business
OTHELLO — An Othello man was placed under arrest on suspicion of attempted first-degree assault after a dispute at an Othello-area business escalated to gunfire.
