Betty Louise McElroy, age 88, of Coeur d’Alene passed away peacefully June 3, 2023, at Hospice of North Idaho Schneidmiller House.

Born Oct. 13, 1934, in St. Maries, Idaho, to Richard and Bea Kingsley, Betty attended St. Maries High School (Class of 1952) where she met the love of her life, Sam McElroy. They were married Jan. 26, 1953.

Sam and Betty raised three daughters, Teresa, Tammy, and Traci. They later moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1974, where Betty began a successful real estate career. She enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, boating, knitting and spending time with her family.

Betty was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Master (LCM) for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sam; second husband Gordon Palm; her parents; and siblings, Bob, Don and Doris. She is survived by her spouse, Wray Rollis; daughters Teresa Heller, Tammy McElroy, Traci Farris (Jim); grandchildren: Bret Heller (Hilary), Tara Hill (John), Jessica Brazee (Matt) and Tony Farris (Reese); nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters Cathy Goldberg (Paul) and Sharon Armstrong (Leon); and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service for the celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Betty’s final resting place is beside her beloved, Sam, at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
