The American Legion Ray Welch Post 13 in St. Regis held its annual Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony Monday morning beginning at Mullan Square, then proceeding to the bridge over the St. Regis River, and ending at the Cemetery on Highway 135. (Mineral Independent/Amy Quinlivan)

Each Memorial Day as the American Legion Post in St. Regis leads the procession through town community members are invited to march through the center of town on Mullan Gulch Road to the St. Regis River to honor American service members as they drop a commemorative wreath into the waters below.
