MOSES LAKE — The Big Bend Community College Communications Studies Department will add a new course to its offerings this year, Introduction to Communications, according to an announcement from the college.
The course, abbreviated CMST& 101, follows the introduction of the Intercultural Communication class (CMST 225) last year. The two are intended to allow students to enter a Communication Studies program with many of the basic courses that allow for a solid foundation, according to the announcement. The field of Communication Studies offers students a range of options for either creating a double major or pivoting into a variety of careers from sportscasting to linguistics to anthropology, the announcement said.
