Washington wildfire summary for June 19

MOSES LAKE — These are the wildfires that were burning in Washington as of Monday afternoon, according to the Environmental Protection Agency’s AirNow website:
• South Satus, about 14 miles southeast of Toppenish: 997 acres.
• Hansen Road, about one mile south of Benton City: 6,289 acres.
• Ruppert Road, about three miles north of Benton City: 155 acres.
• Hover Park, three miles southeast of Finley, 528 acres.
• Sutherland, about 10 miles west of Port Angeles: 108 acres.
Containment information was not immediately available for hese blazes.
In addition, there was an unhealthy air warning in effect in the Lake Wenatchee area north of Leavenworth.

Boys and Girls Club logo allegedly used in Moses Lake scam
MOSES LAKE — Boys and Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin officials are warning people that scammers apparently are using the club’s logo and claiming to be affiliated with the organization. The scammers allegedly were soliciting money door to door along Third Avenue early Tuesday afternoon.
Saint Maries woman dies in crash
A 55-year-old Saint Maries woman died early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 3, according to the Idaho State Police.
Man arrested in Cascade Valley shooting
MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a Nov. 16 shooting in Cascade Valley that left a man with non-life-threatening injuries.
