Outfielder Ava Fredrickson, a junior, was named 3A All-State second team for Bonners Ferry High School Badger softball by the Idaho Statesman.

“Ava is a great all-around player; she hits left and right and also slaps,” Bonners Ferry head softball coach Cynthia Sumpter said. “She was one of our team captains and is a great leader.”

She said Fredrickson is committed to the sport and played all last summer. This summer she continues getting out on the field playing for the North softball team, which features players in the Idaho Panhandle and Montana.

“Ava is more than willing to jump into any position and is always doing what's best for the team. She has worked extremely hard to get where she is at and has really earned this honor,” Sumpter said.

“Ava plays a variety of positions and is always excited to learn new ones. I am very proud of her dedication and hard work. We would not be the team we are today without her.” she said.

The Statesman hosts the voting process and publishes the results, but the All-Idaho teams are chosen by each classification’s coaches.
