Nadine Elaine (Gerths) Barker, 81, of Post Falls, Idaho, was born Jan. 5, 1942, to Emil and Hellena Gerths in Scobey, Mont., passed away June 9, 2023, at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho.
Nadine was a Cd'A High School graduate of the class of 1960. She married Milo Barker on Feb. 18, 1961. The couple settled in Post Falls, where they raised their three children, Jeff, Julie and Mitch.
Nadine worked at Coast-to-Coast Hardware store in Post Falls for several years before being employed by the State of Idaho Liquor Stores.
Nadine thoroughly enjoyed her family and friends, traveling, eating out and watching the Zags, but she especially loved playing cards, bridge and pinochle.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband of 55 1/2 years, Milo Barker, her parents, mother-in-law Grace Shriner, brother Donald Gerths, several in-laws, nephews and a niece.
She is survived by her children, Jeff (Lori)Barker, Julie (Tim) Kinzer and Mitch (Jamie) Barker; nine grandchildren, Brian Boucher, JJ Barker, Dr. Robert (Kimberly) Barker, Brigitte (Matt) Briske, Karli (Kyle) Meyer, Makayla (Chris) Timpson, Stephen Kinzer, Kinzie (Trevor) Boston and Jayden Barker; and 11 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); brother Vern (Reta) Gerths; sister Ella Walters; sister-in-law Arlene Jamison; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nadine loved and deeply touched them all.
Nadine's family wishes to express their overwhelming gratitude to the staff at Schneidmiller Hospice House for their outstanding and loving care of their mother and the emotional support to them during her final week of life.
