Jane Carol (Finney) Holte went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 12, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born May 18, 1957, in Bothell, Wash., to William V. and Mildred E. Finney. She was the sixth of 11 children. The family moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, when Jane was under a year old, and she has called it home ever since. Since her early years, she enjoyed horseback riding, motorcycling, hiking, hunting and spending time at the family summer cabin with siblings, cousins and friends. She trusted Jesus as her personal Savior as a young girl and lived her life radiating His love to others.

She married the love of her life, Randy Holte, in 1977 and they raised three children, Debra (George) Williams, Scott (Andrea) Holte, and Kristi (Dan) Rutler. She delighted in her grandchildren, Grace, Heidi, Kimberly, Clarke, Blake, Roselee and Lillian Williams; Kyla, Jacob and Kara Holte; Shaylynn and Ryder Rutler, as well as many others who called her “Grammy.” She was very special to all of her many nieces and nephews, and a pillar of strength and encouragement to her siblings, their spouses and her in-laws.

She was a light for Jesus in the community as she and Randy welcomed more than 40 foster children into their home over the years, investing in them and teaching them the most important message of God’s love through Jesus’ grace. Jane was a 4-H leader for many years, teaching cake decorating to the kids in her neighborhood. After raising her family, she worked as the entertainment coordinator at the North Idaho State Fair for the past 16 years. Her job brought her great joy, as she thrived in meeting people, making new friends and helping others. She had a huge capacity for love and had many lifelong friendships. Jane was a blessing to all who knew her because she gave glory to God and put others first. Her greatest wish was that all would know God’s grace and mercy and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Jane is survived by her husband, Randy, their three children and spouses, 12 grandchildren, as well as eight remaining siblings and their families. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack Finney and sister Shirley Ann Finney.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds — Jacklin Building. All are welcome!

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made by mail or phone to Calvary Chapel Lighthouse, 650 W. Lancaster Road, Hayden, ID 83835 / Phone: 208-762-3777. Gifts may be directed to the Jane Holte Memorial, to support their Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry.
