LaPan, 45, was the top local female finisher in Sunday’s Ironman Coeur d’Alene, finishing in 11 hours, 31 minutes and 49 seconds. She finished the 2.4-mile swim in 1 hour, 48 minutes, the 124.2-mile bike course in 6 hours, 4 minutes and 49 seconds and the 26.2 mile run in 4 hours, 4 minutes and 54 seconds. “This last Sunday was just beautiful — a truly magical day,” LaPan said. “The course is relentless and conditions are different every year. But this is home and I love it and just never say no to racing here.”
