Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday night on State Highway 53, between Rathdrum and Hauser.

A gray 2014 Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound when it crossed left of center and hit a white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado shortly before 6 p.m., Idaho State Police officials said in a press release.

The driver of the Silverado, a 58-year-old woman from Priest River, died at the scene.

The 26-year-old Sandpoint man who drove the Tacoma was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
