SKEET and TRAP: Give it a try at CDA Club
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 years, 9 months AGO
Kudos to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, the Idaho Legislature and the Kootenai County commissioners for working on a solution to save the CDA Trap and Skeet Club. This club is open to anyone that would like to shoot clay birds with a shotgun. I would urge anyone interested to come and give it a try. Anywhere between 150 to 200 shooters are in the middle of winter league right now shooting three of six disciplines. Any member of the public interested should come on a Saturday or Sunday and watch the high school shooters with lots of smiles on their faces.
Last September, part of the Governor’s Classic was shot here over a two-day period with more than 100 statewide shooters. We are one of a very few sports that is a year-round activity. Extreme heat and cold weather, snow, rain, wind do not matter to us. There are not many sports, if any, that can claim that. The state, county and cities offer many outdoor activities to the residents of Idaho, and most all are not year-round (Pickle Ball, Tennis, Disc Golf, Baseball, Soccer, etc.) Trap and Skeet has been part of the Olympics since the late 1800s. Come out and see what this sport is all about.
