St Patrick’s Day dinner and Auction set for March 18

EPHRATA – Annual St Patrick’s Day Girls State and Boys State Dinner and Auction is coming up soon.
The dinner and Auction will be held March 18 at 5 p.m. at the American Legion Art Semro Post and Unit 28, located at 276 8th Ave NW in Ephrata.
A release from Jane Montaney, Unit 28 American Legion Auxiliary, said that this is the main fundraiser to sponsor young women and men for a week-long intensive active learning experience of state government.
The main meal consists of the traditional corned beef and cabbage; but, ham is available for those that would prefer it. There will also be lots of items to bid on in the auction, including baked goods. The donations will be tax deductible.
The release also said they will celebrate the 104th Anniversary of the American Legion in conjunction with the Dinner and Auction by serving cake and ice cream.
Tickets are available for $12 each or $20 for a couple at the Post during business hours, 1 to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

OTHELLO — Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. Dec. 5 for an open position on the Othello City Council. The new council member will replace Danae Valdez, who announced her resignation Oct. 27.
Multiple injury collision on I-90 Tuesday morning
RITZVILLE – On Tuesday morning before 10 a.m., one mile outside of Ritzville, there was a multiple vehicle collision on both sides of Interstate 90, according to a press release from Washington State Patrol. Both sides of East and West I-90 were blocked. Washington Department of Transportation, Washington State Patrol and fire assistance were on scene. The scene was cleared shortly after 3 p.m.
