Christian speech, debate event in Post Falls next week

Students participate in a past National Christian Forensics and Communications Association Speech and Debate Tournament. Nearly 200 students will participate in the all region qualifier Tuesday through Thursday in Post Falls.

The largest regional qualifier in the country for the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) Speech and Debate Tournament will take place Tuesday through Thursday at the Ross Point Camp and Conference Center in Post Falls.
Nearly 200 students ages 12-18 will participate in 365 debates and more than 1,700 speeches.
This year's debate season includes three styles of debate: Team Policy, Lincoln-Douglas Value and Moot Court. Team Policy this year has to do with import/export policy. Lincoln-Douglas Value this year deals with the clash between the individual right to property and the economic interest of the community.
The tournament has more than 700 community judge slots. Most judges participate in more than one event. Judges and volunteers are needed. Judges must be at least 18 and not enrolled in high school.
The NCFCA began in 1997 with the goal of providing real-world training for Christian homeschool students.
The Ross Point Camp and Conference Center is at 820 S. Ross Point Road.
