NIC SOFTBALL: Makinster, Rockwell each homer twice as Cardinals sweep past Clackamas

ONTARIO, Ore. — North Idaho College freshman Summer Makinster homered twice, including a three-run shot in the fourth inning of a 14-6 win over the Clackamas Cougars of Oregon City, Ore., at Treasure Valley Community College on Saturday.
Freshman Karli Kostoff hit a three-run home run in the fifth for NIC (5-3), which beat Clackamas 16-4 in the first game of the nonconference twinbill.
In the first game, sophomore Megan Dobrev, Hattie Imbler-Bremner and freshman Hayden Rockwell each homered in the romp. Rockwell finished with four RBIs in the opener.
NIC faces Southwestern Oregon in a doubleheader at 11 a.m. in Ontario.
