As the high school basketball season recently wrapped up, a few Whitefish players were selected for postseason honors.
For the boys basketball team, Whitefish junior Mason Kelch made All-Conference second team for the Northwest A. Teammate Jack Sears, senior big man, also was selected as an All-Conference honorable mention.
The boys basketball team had a rocky start with a thin roster to start the season, but made a comeback in the last half to earn a spot at the Western A Divisional Tournament. The Bulldogs finished with a 6-13 record. Kelch and Sears often led the team in scoring throughout the season.
For the girls, Whitefish junior Bailey Smith earned an All-Conference honorable mention for the Northwest A.
Smith came into the season healing from a knee injury the previous year. Smith had limited minutes early on, but made a difference on the court for the Lady Bulldogs. She often led Whitefish in scoring and her outside shooting and ablity to get to the free throw line helped Whitefish throughout the year. The Lady Dogs ended the season 6-12 overall and narrowly missed divisionals after splitting the play-in games.
