Our beautiful mother received her Angel wings March 25, 2023, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was born in Miles City, Mont., on Feb. 1, 1941. She was the daughter of Emma and William Ramsbottom.

She worked for Kootenai County for 33 years, 28 as supervisor of elections. She enjoyed camping, cooking, traveling, a good book and, most of all, time with her family.

One of our favorite things we will miss is when she made tacos and enchiladas from scratch. The whole family would drop what they were doing to have this special meal, and she always sent leftovers home. We would camp at Indian Creek, Priest Lake for a week every year. She loved that time with family.

She leaves behind her three daughters who were her world, Karen Chastek (John), Connie Wiener (John) and Jana Pool (Kenny); grandchildren Josh (Meghann), John II, Brandee (Dustin), Ashley (Luke), Holly (Ty), Jessica (Brian) and Jacob (Toni); and 11 great-grandchildren.

Our mother was the rock of our family, she loved all holidays, especially Christmas. She has passed down many family traditions and will be deeply missed.

The family will hold a private graveside service. Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Please visit Deedie’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
