The Kohl’s department store in Kalispell is set to open on Friday, April 28.
The national department store earlier this week announced the opening date for the location on U.S. 93 North. Located in the Spring Prairie Commons shopping center, the store joins Old Navy, Hobby Lobby and REI stores.
The 35,000-square-foot space will offer a range of items including clothing and home goods.
The company says the store will “showcase Kohl’s refreshed, modernized design which will deliver discovery, inspiration and convenience to customers and include bright, open aisles for easy navigation, and customer conveniences to make the shopping experience even easier.”
The store is expected to feature national brands like Nike, Under Armour, adidas, Levi’s and Champion, in addition to Kohl’s private brands such as Sonoma Goods for Life, LC by Lauren Conrard, and more, the chain noted in a release.
The store has said it aimed to hire employees to fill nine full-time and 50 part-time positions.
Kohl’s had previously signaled plans to construct a store in Kalispell, but that was scrapped in 2009. Then inklings of the national chain’s arrival in Kalispell emerged again in the spring of last year when the store showed up on an agenda for the city’s site development review committee. The first Kohl’s department store opened in Brookfield, Wisconsin in 1962. The chain now includes more than 1,000 stores in 49 states.
Kohl’s already has three Montana stores, located in Billings, Bozeman and Missoula.
