Spring sports kicking off in Lincoln County

Spring sports are ready to kick off in Lincoln County.
The Libby High School softball team kicks off the season today, playing at Polson. The junior varsity game begins at 3:30 p.m. with the varsity to follow. Saturday, they'll host Frenchtown with the jayvee at noon and varsity to follow.
Track and field is headed to Eureka for a meet at 10 a.m. Saturday against the Lions. The Logger’s first home meet is the Libby Invitational on April 15. Libby will also host the County Meet Thursday, April 27.
Tennis was slated to be the first sport to play, but a March 24 scheduled match in Polson was called off due to weather concerns. It was set to be played Thursday in Polson.
The Loggers will open the season at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4, against Columbia Falls.
Libby will host its invitational April 21-22. The Loggers are hosting the divisional tournament on May 19-20.
In Troy, the Trojan’s new baseball team was supposed to begin the season March 25 in Florence, but it was postponed.
The Trojans played at Eureka on March 28 and lost 15-0. They were also to host Browning on Thursday, March 30 at Roosevelt Park.
The Lady Trojans softball team is scheduled to play at Eureka today at 3 p.m. Their first home game is set for Saturday, April 1 against Thompson Falls with a start time of noon.
Troy’s track and field squad will also compete at Eureka on Saturday, April 1.
The tennis team begins its season April 10 with a home match against Clark Fork.
