Mary Alice (Wang) Washburn of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on April 30, 2023, at home with family by her side. Mary Alice was born June 22, 1954, in Great Falls, Mont., to mother Mary Elizabeth Dortch and father Leonard Wang.
Mary Alice attended several local colleges while she was married to John Edward Chase, as they were stationed at several different U.S. Army Posts. She achieved her hairstylist degree. She returned home to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and, after several years and jobs, she finally found her calling as a certified nurse’s aide. This is where she found her true passion in her life helping other people the best way she could.
Other hobbies that she enjoyed were quilting and being in her garden tending to her flowers. Spending time with her family and her fur babies was always on the top of her “to-do list”.
Mary Alice is survived by her son, Travis Chase, and daughter-in-law Amber of Post Falls, Idaho; sisters Rae Lynn Carnahan and brother-in-law Steve Carnahan of Post Falls, Idaho, and Verla Wang Touse of Utah; brothers Paul Wang of Spokane, Wash., and Kelly Wang of Post Falls, Idaho; granddaughters Mackenzie Moore, Brittany Chase, Kaylaa Taylor, Dakota Taylor; great-granddaughter Lily Jin; grandson Brandon Chase; as well as several nieces and nephews.
