POST FALLS — The top 16 individuals and eight relays in District 1 will compete in the annual District 1 all-star track and field meet today starting at 2:30 p.m. at Post Falls High.
Among the competitors will be Lake City High senior Trevor Cogley, who holds the top time in the state in the 400-meter dash in 48.54 seconds according to Athletic.net.
Cogley recently signed to compete at Boise State.
Sandpoint senior Rusty Lee holds the top time in the state in the 110 hurdles (14.18) and 300 hurdles (38.70).
Post Falls senior Annastasia Peters, who has signed to run cross country and track and field at Utah, leads the state in the 3,200 with a time of 10 minutes, 33.09 seconds.
During the meet, two athletes — Logan Feasline of St. Maries High and Darcy Collins of Kootenai — as well as Kent Eggleston will be inducted into the meet’s hall of fame at approximately 3:55 p.m.
Feasline, a 2015 graduate, won the state title as a senior in the discus with a throw of 180 feet, 4 inches. He went on to compete at the Air Force Academy and was an all-Mountain West Conference selection as a junior after finishing third in the conference meet.
Collins was an integral part of four straight state 1A championship teams at Kootenai High under coach Shannon LaFountaine. At the time of graduation, Collins held state records in the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles, high jump and 200. She still holds the 1A 300 hurdle record at 45.57 seconds.
Eggleston, a longtime track enthusiast, is being honored for years of service to area programs.
