Jim Seig died in son Robert Seig's home in Salado, Texas, on April 5, 2023. He did it his way! He lived a long, wonderful life and had two beautiful wives. Jim married first wife Georgia Banks while he was serving in the Navy on the Boxer Aircraft Carrier and received a Medal of Honor for retrieving a flare that was lit under an aircraft on the carrier as he was working the catapult. He threw it overboard and saved the ship and men from a catastrophe. Georgia and Jim had their daughter, Jean Ellen Seig Hockett.

Jim then met Kathryn Crowe Seig and, between them, had a family of nine of his and her children. They enjoyed life, traveling, working and each other for 40-plus years. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and, even before Jim passed, he had great-great-grandchildren.

Jim leaves behind his daughter, Jean Ellen Seig Hockett, of Buena Vista, Calif., son Robert (Carla) of Salado, Texas, William (Deena) Seig of Bullhead City, Ariz., daughter Linda Seig, deceased as an infant, daughter Tina Seig Novy and husband Larry of Puyallup, Wash., stepchildren Sandra Grant and husband David of Harrison, Idaho, and Ireta Crowe McClure of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and deceased stepson Jimmy Crowe of Spokane, Wash.

Jim lost his beloved Kathryn and lived his life with sons Bill and Bob. He enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling and spending time with family. He will be missed and always loved by all who knew him. Godspeed.
