Motorcyclist injured in collision

A 59-year-old motorcyclist from Blanchard was taken to the hospital Thursday after a motorcycle-vehicle collision in a highway intersection in Rathdrum.
Idaho State Police are investigating the injury of the motorcycle-vehicle collision, which took place just before 5 p.m. The driver of the Explorer turned south onto the interchange of State Highway 41 and State Highway 53 and collided with the motorcyclist, who was traveling east through the intersection. The Blanchard man was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance.
The driver of the green Explorer was a 28-year-old Rathdrum man. Two passengers were in the Explorer, a 23-year-old woman and a juvenile, both of Rathdrum. All occupants in the Ford Explorer were wearing seat belts.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
The incident remains under investigation.
