Adoption event at Sandpoint's TCC this Saturday

by LAUREN REICHENBACH
I’ve spent most of my life in northeastern Washington and graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2021. After that, I spent roughly two years working for a small online newspaper in North Seattle before realizing big city living wasn’t for me. Me and my pup, Kodak, headed east, where we eventually landed in Sandpoint. When I’m not writing, you can find me spending time exercising and taking photos. I ran two half marathons in high school and after spending the past few years recovering from various injuries, I’m hoping to complete my first full marathon by the end of the year. I also love any outdoor activity, none of which would be complete without my dog. Kodak and I love going for walks and hikes, and I can’t wait to try to convince him to get in my kayak and spend the hot months of the year on Lake Pend Oreille. While he’s not a fan of baths, he sure does love chasing the ducks. | May 12, 2023 1:00 AM

Sandpoint’s local Verizon-authorized retailer TCC will be hosting a shelter animal adoption event in partnership with Better Together Animal Alliance on Saturday at 1 p.m. as part of its second Rescues Rock initiative.

Interested adopters can find more information about the adoption event by visiting bit.ly/3NQceed using the “Rescues Rock” filter.

Through Rescues Rock, TCC will also be hosting in-store supply drives for items to deliver to their local animal rescues in hopes to better the experiences for residing shelter animals waiting for their forever homes. Items that stores will be accepting include, but are not limited to: Gently used towels and blankets, cat and dog toys, treats, collars, leashes and pet beds.

The supply drive will run from May 1-31.

“Supporting animal rescues is a distinct passion for many across Round Room, which makes the Rescues Rock initiative incredibly special to our entire company,” said Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room, part of TCC. “We’re proud to give back to hundreds of rescues nationwide, along with helping numerous animals find their forever homes. Over 1.5 million adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized every year in the U.S., making efforts like this initiative even more important so shelter animals can have the prosperous lives they deserve.”

More information on Rescues Rock can be found at bit.ly/3Ma6Ikj.
