COEUR d’ALENE — Lake City defeated the Sandpoint Cutthroats 15-12 in the championship game of the Idaho High School Lacrosse League North Division regional tournament Saturday at Coeur d’Alene High.
With semifinal victories earlier Saturday, both teams locked up berths to the eight-team state tournament this Friday and Saturday in Sandpoint.
Sandpoint’s semifinal win was a 10-5 triumph over the Coeur d’Alene Vikings.
Coeur d’Alene (12-12) came back later Saturday and beat Immaculate Conception Academy of Post Falls 16-3 to capture the North’s third and final berth to state.
Next week’s tournament games are scheduled for three fields in Sandpoint — War Memorial Field, Great Northern Field and Centennial Field.
The championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at War Memorial Field.
