Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 years, 7 months AGO
Six outstanding students from Kootenai County have been initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most-selective collegiate authority on all academic disciplines.
The local young men and women are among about 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni who are initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.
Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10% of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
The Kootenai County student honorees are:
• Justine Morgan, Coeur d'Alene, University of Idaho
• Sadie Bouwens, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho State University
• Madison Whittemore, Hayden Lake, University of California-Davis
• Nicole Judson, Hayden, University of Idaho
• Toni Sabala, Rathdrum, University of Idaho
• Allison Knoll, Coeur d'Alene, Central Washington University
