Two Mavs golfers qualify for state

MOSES LAKE – Two Maverick golfers are heading to the 4A Boys State Golf Tournament in Spokane next week after qualifying as individuals.
Moses Lake sophomore Quinten Whittall and freshman Mason Bradford will play in the 4A boys state tournament at the Qualchan Golf Course in Spokane on Tuesday and Wednesday after receiving individual bids from the Columbia Basin Big-Nine district tournament.
The top two teams from districts move on as a team, while the next best four scores qualify as individuals. Whittall had the second-best score, while Bradford had the fourth-best score.
Whittall shot a 73 on the first day of the CBBN tournament and an 84 on day two. Bradford shot an 84 and an 81 on days one and two, respectively.
Tee times are released by the WIAA on Friday.
