She began her post-high-school education at Treasure Valley Community College and enerned her journalism degree at Oregon State University. After working for multiple publications, she has settled down at the Columbia Basin Herald and has been a staple of the newsroom for more than a decade. EPHRATA — American Legion Post 28 in Ephrata hosted a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday. This was just one of multiple events in the area held to honor those killed in service to the nation. Additional coverage of these events will be included in Wednesday's edition of the Columbia Basin Herald.

Members of American Legion Post 28 in Ephrata fire a 21-gun salute in honor of the veterans buried at the Ephrata Cemetery during a Memorial Day ceremony Monday. Speaker Mike Montenay said the post has identified 480 military veterans in the cemetery, from all branches of the U.S. armed forces, who fought in conflicts dating back to the Civil War.
