Alice Wood Harman, 74

Alice Pearl Wood Harman, 74, of Live Oak, Fla., passed away Oct. 26, 2023. She was born Aug. 25, 1949, in Columbus, Mont., to the late Bill and Helen Wood. Alice was a loving and caring individual who cherished her family and was always there to lend a helping hand to her friends and neighbors. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Kim (Dan) LaBelle, and her son, Vern (Joanne) Harman. She was a proud grandmother to Tyler (Paula) LaBelle, Ethan (Chelsea) LaBelle, Brice (Ashlin) LaBelle, and great-grandchildren Matthew, McKenzie, Logan, Bryson, Karson, Chloe, Keegan, and Ellie. She is also survived by her brothers, Boyd (Rosella) Wood, Bob Wood, Ervin (Peggy) Wood, brother-in-law Dave Jansma, sister-in-law Joan (Bruce) Carroll and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vern Harman, and her siblings, Chuck Wood, Gene Wood, Wes Wood, Ella Jansma and Viola Wood.

Alice attended Reedpoint High School and went on to have a successful career. She worked at numerous restaurants and also held a janitorial position at Aloha Cleaning where she met Judy Luzzo and they became fast friends. She eventually retired from managing Maranatha Mobile Home Park. 

Alice was the seventh of nine children, being the first one to be born in Montana. In high school, she enjoyed cheerleading and drama. She loved her teachers Mr. and Mrs B, and her best friend Lelia Whitford. 

In her free time, Alice enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and crafting. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity. She liked to plant an Easter egg garden with her great-grandchildren and get everyone together for holidays. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice or the Diabetes Association in memory of Alice Harman.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Daniels Funeral Home in Live Oak, Fla.
