COLUMBIA BASIN — With the first state tournament of the year now in the rearview mirror, many teams across the Basin have been competing in their respective district tournaments and attempting to earn bids to state. Check out this week’s Basin sports recap for a look at where teams stand.
All scores, records and seedings are according to the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. Results from Tuesday’s games were not available in time for the press deadline.
Almira/Coulee-Hartline
Football
The Warriors held Republic scoreless through the first three quarters of Friday’s 68-14 win, racking up 376 yards of offense and having six players score rushing touchdowns. ACH put up 30 points in both the first and second quarters, scoring 40 or more points for the sixth time this season. Up next for the Warriors is a home crossover game against Waterville-Mansfield on Friday.

Ephrata
Football
The Tigers took the Central Washington Athletic Conference title with Friday night’s 13-0 win over Ellensburg, shutting out the Bulldogs while scoring rushing touchdowns from running back Elijah Chavez-Mabry and quarterback Brady Hendrick. The Tigers are off this week before beginning the 2A State Football Tournament next week.

Girls Soccer (8-11): 3-1 loss to East Valley (Yakima) Thursday, 1-0 loss to Othello Saturday.
Volleyball (12-4): 3-0 wins over Prosser Thursday and Selah Saturday, 3-0 loss to Ellensburg Monday.
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague
Volleyball
Finishing the regular season with a 14-1 record, the LRS Broncos earned a No. 1 seed in last week’s Northeast 2B district tournament. The Broncos began the tournament with a 3-0 sweep of Asotin on Tuesday before taking down Northwest Christian (Colbert) 3-1 in the tournament semifinals. LRS lost to Colfax 3-0 in the finals but still clinched a spot in the 2B District 6/7 Crossover, where they will play Saturday against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.

Moses Lake
Football
Eastmont defeated Moses Lake 35-8 in a battle of undefeated squads on Friday night, holding the Mavs to just one-for-four in the red zone en route to a Columbia Basin Big 9 title. The Mavs turned the ball over on downs three times in the loss, as well as threw four interceptions. Moses Lake (8-1) hosts Chiawana on Friday night in a crossover game.

Slowpitch Softball: lost to Skyview 11-4, Central Valley 25-17 in 4A State Slowpitch Softball Tournament.
Volleyball (8-8): hosted Eastmont in district tournament play-in game Tuesday night.
MLCA/CCS
Football
The Lions lost 64-30 to Liberty Bell on Saturday at Lions Field, putting MLCA/CCS at 7-2 in their inaugural season.

Othello
Football
Othello wrapped up the regular season with a 49-13 road win over East Valley (Yakima), finishing in second place of the CWAC with a 5-1 league record. After a 1-2 start to the year, Othello won their final six games of the regular season.
The Huskies have a bye this week and will participate in the 2A State Football Tournament next week.

Quincy
Girls Soccer
The Jackrabbits began the Caribou Trail League district tournament with a 4-1 win over Chelan on Saturday, playing at Wenatchee High School. Quincy, a No. 3 seed in the tournament, faced off against No. 2 Cascade (Leavenworth) on Tuesday for a chance to advance to the 1A District 6/7 Crossover.

Volleyball (7-10): 3-1 win over Kittitas Thursday, 3-1 loss to Omak in district tournament Saturday.
Royal
Football
The Knights remain unbeaten at 8-0 after Friday night’s 49-7 win over Connell, which also clinched Royal’s 10th-straight league title. Quarterback Lance Allred completed 14 of 20 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns, adding another three touchdowns on runs of his own. Royal hosts Naches Valley on Friday night.

Girls Soccer (11-5-2): 5-1 win over La Salle Thursday, 1-0 loss to Naches Valley Saturday in district tournament. Hosted Connell Tuesday night in the consolation round.
Volleyball (8-7): began the district tournament at Zillah Tuesday night.
Soap Lake

The 12-4 Eagles began the Central Washington B district tournament with a 3-1 win over Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian School on Thursday, advancing to the semifinals where they lost 3-0 to Entiat. Soap Lake faces off against Wilson Creek on Thursday night in the consolation game, where the winner goes to state.

Wahluke
Girls Soccer
Wahluke opened the South Central Athletic Conference district tournament with a 4-3 loss to No. 1 seed Naches Valley on Thursday, losing to the Rangers in a 3-2 penalty shootout. The loss dropped the Warriors into the consolation bracket, where they fell 4-2 to La Salle. Wahluke finishes the season with a 7-9-2 record.

Warden
Volleyball
Warden (15-2) fell to River View 3-1 in Thursday’s regular-season finale, earning a No. 4 seed in the Eastern Washington Athletic Conference district tournament. The Cougars opened with a 3-0 win over Kittitas and travel to No. 1 seed Goldendale on Wednesday; the winner qualifies for state.
