Opera cancels December performances

Inland Northwest Opera announced it is canceling its December performances of Mozart’s "Don Giovanni" and postponing the production until September 2024.
“Unfortunately, INO did not meet fundraising projections to fund this year’s mainstage production,” said an email announcement from Max Mendez, the opera company’s general director. “Since ticket sales only cover 30% of mainstage costs, the board of directors made the very difficult decision to proceed with the only fiscally responsible course at this time.”
Refunds for any tickets already purchased will be issued by Tickets West, the email said.
The announcement said Inland Northwest Opera is “committed to its mission and working toward a reimagined 2024 season.”
“We thank you for your continued support of our mainstage, education programs and community concerts. We are truly stronger together!” the email said.
