Festival needs to honor national anthem

I agree with Don Myers’ letter (Daily Bee, Oct. 8, 2023), “Festival: We want our national anthem.” 

If, and only if, Mr Myers is correct that the Festival’s reason for not playing the national anthem before each concert is because [ “ … they do not control the stage, but the act that they have hired controls the venue,”] the board needs to be retired for that bit of gutless nonsense. 

My wife served as a board member for over 20 years and we have supported the Festival with a goodly amount of money. If Mr. Myers is correct, the Festival can forget us.
