MOSES LAKE — A shooting Sunday afternoon left one person dead and two more hospitalized, according to a statement from the Moses Lake Police Department.
Officers responded to a report just before 3 p.m. of shots fired in the 400 block of West Linden Street near Montlake Park, the statement said. When they arrived they found three people with apparent gunshot wounds in and around a small Honda. One of the victims was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other two victims were initially transported to Samaritan Hospital; one was later flown to an out-of-area hospital for care.
Through witness statements and video from various sources officers determined the other vehicle involved was a silver Nissan Murano, the MLPD wrote. This vehicle was located and recovered a short time later using automated license plate reader cameras.
The Washington State Patrol crime lab was processing the scene Monday morning, according to the MLPD. Anyone with information is asked to contact MLPD detectives through MACC dispatch at 509-762-1160.
