Volleyball: Whitefish, Polson have 2 All-State picks
Daily Inter Lake | Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 1 year, 2 months AGO
Whitefish’s Isabella Hartwig and Brooke Zetooney and Polson’s Avery Starr and Mckenna Hanson have been named All-State for volleyball out of the Northwest A.
The league coaches chose their all-Northwest A teams, and a third Polson Pirate made first team: Julia Barnard. Bigfork’s Ava Davey also was first-team all-Northwest A; she and Hartwig are juniors, while the rest of the first team are seniors.
Hartwig and Zetooney were the top hitters for a Whitefish squad that finished third at the Western A Divisional and qualified for the State A tournament for the first time since 2018. The Bulldogs went 17-12 this season.
Starr, Barnard and Hanson helped Polson make it to Bozeman for the first straight season. The Pirates won a match at State and finished 12-8.
