MOSES LAKE — A semi-truck was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon in Moses Lake, according to a statement from the Moses Lake Fire Department.
Firefighters responded at about 2:24 p.m. to a report of a vehicle fire at a truck stop in the 1800 block of East Kittelson Road, according to the statement. Crews arrived to find the vehicle completely engulfed in smoke and flames.
The privately owned truck was hauling frozen french fries, according to the MLFD. The rig was destroyed, but there were no injuries, nor were any hazardous materials involved. The cause is under investigation.
The Ramada Inn provided a room for the driver overnight at no charge, the MLFD wrote, and Fire Inspector Tasiya Deering paid for the driver’s meals and other expenses.
